As a theatrical professional, my background is in acting and directing. My acting training was by Stella Adler, the only actor American actor to have studied acting with Stanislavski in Europe. At Miss Adler's conservatory, my teachers included Miss Adler, Mario Siletti, Ron Burrus, Irene Kling and Sondra Lee.
As a director, I was trained by Jack Garfein, a protege of Harold Clurman, founder of The Group Theatre. At Mr. Garfein's Actor's and Director's Lab on Theatre Row in New York, in addition to studying with Mr. Garfein, I assited him in directing his double bill of Arthur Miller's "The Price" and Ionesco's "The Lesson," starring Fritz Weaver and Didi Conn.
This solid grounding in the modern versions of Stanislavski's techniques, as seem through the prism of the Group Theatre's experimentation has provided the bedrock on which I have build an extensive career not just in acting and directing, but in musical direction as well.
I hold memberships in the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) Local 802 and Actor's Equity Association (AEA).
